Montlake Elementary School Short Film
April 2003

This short comedy was written and directed by the kids of Montlake Elementary School.  Led by Justin Reznick, they shot the film in one day on location in the school.  I was given the opportunity to edit the piece and create the ending credits.  Everything about the film was inspired by the kids, including the paintings.

Tech 2000 Session 4
January 2003 - March 2003

My students from the first group in the first part of 2003 (Session 4) made two separate pieces.  The first piece is about "saying no" to drugs and the second part is a talk show about hate crimes.
Every session, the students take home a video tape of their final video, which also includes most of their video exercises and bloopers.  The clip below shows what the students got on the end of their final video tape for this session.

Tech 2000 Session 3
August 2002 - December 2002

gradClick here to look at screenshots of the Tech 2000 graduation for Session 3 held on Friday, December 20, 2002.

My students from the first group in the second part of 2002 (Session 3) created a news show about drugs and violence in the community.  Half of the students storyboarded and scripted the news cast, while the second half worked on the interview questions.  Both groups created the entertainment and commmercial breaks in the video.

My students from the second group in the second part of 2002 (Session 3) were so inspired by the first group's video/newscast about drugs and violence in the community, they decided to create a video about a radio show on discrimination.  This is their video message to the community.
Every session, the students take home a video tape of their final video, which also includes most of their video exercises and bloopers.  The clip below shows an example of what the students get on the end of their final video tape.

YWCA Youth Options
June - July 2002

This is a clip of the final Public Service Announcement (PSA) video created by my students in the YWCA's Summer Youth Options program.  Youth Options is a program developed by the Renton YWCA in collaboration with other community organizations for young men and women, ages 16-21.  "The youth employment program provides education and training leading to successful employment."  911 Media Arts Center was chosen to aid in the employment training by providing a month long course on video production.
The clip below includes the credits and outtakes.
